Frequently Asked Questions

Each session will last for 50 minutes. At the initial meeting, we will agree on how best that we can work together, ensuring that we work at a pace that suits you and giving you the space to share what you are wanting to bring to the counselling room. For the rest of the time, you will have the space to talk freely and safely with the opportunity to consider how you are feeling and what you are thinking.

Please be reassured that everything that we discuss is in confidence. There are some exceptions to this rule, i.e. if I am legally or ethically required to disclose information. However, we will discuss this during our initial session so that you are fully aware of what this means

A fifty minute session costs £50. Discounted sessions are available for counselling students or people on low income. Payment can be by cash or bank transfer. However, bank transfer would need to be paid 24hrs in advance of the session.

I will talk you through a working agreement so that you have a full understanding of what to expect from me and the service that I offer. Please note that the agreement does not ask for any commitment to the number of sessions and you are able to end the sessions at any time.  

I have an extremely flexible approach to counselling and the number of sessions will be dependant on what you are wanting to gain from the sessions. Some people may only want to meet for a few sessions, others may feel that it would be helpful to have a longer period of time. Initially, we will review the sessions after a short term so that you can consider what you want from your counselling experience and you can decide if it is something that you would like to continue

You can use the website contact page or alternatively give me call and leave a message on my dedicated voicemail.  Please leave your contact information and a brief message to let me know that you would like to arrange an introductory call. Please also let me know if there are particular times which would be best to contact you. I will aim to contact you within 24 hours to arrange a time for an introductory call. 

To ensure that you stay at the heart of our working relationship, whilst in your home, it is necessary that all noises and interruptions are removed during the counselling session.

I have a fully enhanced DBS to reassure clients of their safety whilst in their own 

I am able to travel to meet with clients who live within a 20 mile radius of the counselling room. Due to travel expenses, an additional cost of £10.00 will be incurred
